Navigating the Path to Public Trust

The Navigating the Path to Public Trust resource was developed by IACP’s Community Policing and Police Professional Ethics and Image Committees with the intention of educating police agencies on the foundations of public confidence, methods to measuring community trust, how to recognize trust-altering events, and how to identify voices of influence in the community. This resource contains three written exercises for agencies to utilize in their ongoing efforts to build and maintain community trust, as well as additional trust building resources and examples from the field.
