MOU Signing - United Nation's Special Envoy for Road Safety
On October 5, 2023, IACP’s Executive Director Vincent Talucci signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the United Nation’s Special Envoy for Road Safety in New York, NY. Through the MOU, the IACP and the United Nation’s Special Envoy for Road Safety aim to increase the involvement of global police leaders in collaborative global road safety efforts and initiatives.
Letter of Intent Signing - Europol
On October 15, 2023, IACP Immediate Past President John Letteney and Catherine De Bolle, Executive Director of Europol signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) to strengthen the partnership between the two organizations. The LOI was signed during the IACP Global Policing Division International Delegate Luncheon at the IACP 2023 Annual Conference and Exposition in San Diego, CA where Executive Director De Bolle was featured as the keynote speaker. The LOI will allow for greater information and resource sharing between IACP and Europol.
Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative for Global Road Safety (BIGRS) – Bogota and Cali Colombia
On September 16-28, 2023, IACP conducted a site visit to Colombia as part of the BIGRS project to provide training on data-driven enforcement. The visit coincided with Colombia's National Road Safety Week, and IACP spoke in two panels of the Road Safety International Workshop.
IACP/UAE MOI Police Academy Exchange Program - McKinney, TX
On January 17, 2024, IACP in partnership with the UAE Ministry of Interior, facilitated the enrollment of four Emirati officers at the Collin College Law Enforcement Academy in McKinney, TX as a part of the IACP/UAE MOI Police Academy Exchange Program. The exchange marks the second iteration of the program hosted at Collin College Law Enforcement Academy. Over the course of five months, the officers will complete a 775-hour Basic Peace Officer course while learning and engaging with their U.S. counterparts.
