On November 6, 2023, members of the Global Policing Team and the Programs Team conducted a virtual presentation with members of the Ponferrada Police Department of Ponferrada, Spain on community policing and community police engagement. The presentation provided members of the department with an overview of the IACP and promising practices on community policing as the department implements a new community policing model.

On November 29 - December 1, 2023, the Global Policing team conducted a training in Mexico City, Mexico for 20 agents from the DUI Unit of the Secretary of Citizen Security. The three-day training was provided by IACP Drug Recognition Experts (DREs) as part of the Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative for Global Road Safety (BIGRS).

From November 6-10, 2023, IACP conducted a site visit to Argentina as part of the BIGRS initiative. In Buenos Aires, IACP provided training on public transportation enforcement and conflict resolution for 120 traffic agents. In Córdoba, IACP donated safety and visibility equipment to the Municipal Traffic Police and delivered a Safe and Efficient Checkpoint training for 100 traffic inspectors.

The 41st Annual ASEANAPOL Conference took place in Vientiane, Laos from October 17-19, 2023. IACP Past President Steve Casstevens attended the conference on behalf of the IACP. During the event, Past President Casstevens engaged with police leaders from Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) member countries on their policing priorities.

From October 2023 to February 2024, the IACP in collaboration with the UAE Ministry of Interior, launched the second iteration of the IACP/UAE MOI Police Academy Exchange Program. Through the program, 35 police officers representing 28 local and national police agencies from 13 countries, were enrolled in a four-month basic academy program at the Abu Dhabi Police College in Abu Dhabi, UAE. Over the course of four months, the officers participated in physical fitness, practical exercises, marching, and academic studies while exchanging knowledge and best practices with academy staff, fellow exchange officers, and their Emirati counterparts. A graduation ceremony was held on February 8, 2024. During the graduation ceremony, a Collaborative Exchange Agreement was signed between the IACP, the UAE Ministry of Interior, and five police agencies who committed to host future groups of Emirati police officials within their respective police academies.

On October 2-3, 2023, IACP conducted a site visit to Colombia where IACP President Letteney met with the Director General of the Colombian National Police (CNP), General Salamanca, to discuss IACP's global expansion over the past few years and its continuous partnership with the CNP.

On October 2-6, 2023, IACP conducted a site visit through the BIGRS initiative. During the site visit, IACP road safety experts attended two panels “Non-Alcoholic Drunkenness, A First Looking at A Growing Risk” and “Motorcyclists and Speeding: How to Address This Risk Factor with The Main Victims of Road Crashes” at the XVII International Road Safety Seminar of Bogotá. IACP also delivered training on “Fundamentals of Enforcement Implementation & Evaluation: Data-driven Crash Reduction Strategies” to 17 traffic police officers from the Colombian National Police (CNP), 26 civilian traffic agents from the District Secretariat of Mobility (SDM) in Bogotá, and 24 civilian traffic agents from the Secretariat of Mobility (SOM) in Cali.

From September 26-27, 2023, IACP leadership attended the 13th Annual European Police Chiefs Convention in the Hague, Netherlands. The event featured a Presidential Keynote speech by President Letteney. 

IACP Immediate Past President John Letteney and IACP executive leadership conducted a presidential visit to Taiwan where IACP participated in the International Forum on Police Cooperation. The forum took place from September 4-7, 2023, and the theme of the event was “Combatting Transnational Crime”. During the forum, President Letteney was featured as a keynote speaker and Director Hawkes moderated a panel session.

In August 2023, IACP executive leadership attended the 50th Annual Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police Conference and Presidential Keynote Speech in Brisbane, Australia. The theme of the conference was “Cybercrime – Countering Child Exploitation”, which focused on the challenges and opportunities to strengthen law enforcement response to the threat of child exploitation within the Pacific.
