Global Reach
International perspectives are vitally important to all law enforcement leaders and IACP helps facilitate the sharing of that perspective through a number of forums. Through relationships with other international organizations, the IACP's members turn to each other to answer questions of global relevance.
Global Policing
With more than 35,000 members in over 170 countries, the IACP has a vast global reach. IACP’s Global Initiatives are housed under the provision of the Global Policing Division. The Global Policing Division was established to provide a strategic plan for the international programs and activities of the IACP.
IACP’s global reach also includes the International Managers of Police Academy and College Training (IMPACT) Section, Trust Building Campaign, Cultural Transformation in Policing, and the International Road Policing Alliance (IRPA).

International Law Enforcement Relations Symposium
On September 19, 2025, IACP Third Vice President Colonel Matthew Packard and a member of the Global Policing team provided two virtual presentations to attendees of an International Law Enforcement Relations symposium. The presentation was attended by over 200 police leaders from state and federal police agencies in Brazil, as well as international police attachés serving in Brasilia.
International Meeting of Chiefs of Police of the Americas
On November 14-16, 2023, IACP Second Vice President David Rausch and IACP staff represented IACP at the Inaugural International Meeting of Chiefs of Police of the Americas conference in Bogotá, Colombia. The conference was organized by the Colombian National Police to promote strategic coordination for regional security and to build a regional strategy to counter transnational crime and other emerging threats. The event involved 11 countries and 8 invited cooperation organizations that included 11 chiefs of police, 8 attachés, 14 law enforcement agencies, 8 generals, 4 speakers, 4 government representatives and 12 colonels.
International Police Education and Training (IPET)
Funded by a grant with the U.S. Department of State Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, Office of Criminal Justice Assistance and Partnership, the International Police Education and Training program (IPET) aimed to help increase the capabilities of foreign senior police officials and police organizations. The project’s intended goal was to train two to four international police officers (fellows) in the United States for a period of 6-8 weeks. As a part of this training, the fellows developed change proposals for their home agency which they began to implement upon their return. The IACP also sent U.S. officers from the partner agency abroad to mentor the fellows in their home country and assist them in implementing the change plans on which they worked while in the U.S.
International Police Summit (IPS)
In Fall 2021, IACP participated in the International Police Summit in Seoul, South Korea. During the visit, IACP's World Regional Office in Seoul, South Korea, was officially opened.
International Road Policing Alliance Second Annual Luncheon
On August 5, 2025, the International Road Policing Alliance (IRPA) hosted its second annual luncheon. David Harrington, Chief Superintendent with An Garda Síochána (Irish National Police) Roads Policing Bureau, was the featured speaker at the event.
International Visitor Leadership Program Delegation Visit
On June 10, 2025, the IACP hosted a delegation of 14 police and national security officials from 13 countries through the U.S. Department of State funded International Visitor Leadership Program.
INTERPOL Annual General Meeting (AGM)
In 2018, IACP executive leadership attended the 2018 INTERPOL Annual General Meeting.
INTERPOL General Assembly
In 2019, IACP executive leadership attended the INTERPOL General Assembly in Santiago, Chile.
INTERPOL General Assembly
At the 2021 INTERPOL General Assembly in Istanbul, Turkey, IACP received approval from INTERPOL member countries to form a new MOU between INTERPOL and IACP.
INTERPOL General Assembly
On November 28-December 1, 2023, IACP executive leadership attended the INTERPOL General Assembly. The meeting marked the 100th anniversary since the founding of the International Criminal Police Commission which became INTERPOL in 1956. The general assembly was held in Vienna, Austria which is the city where INTERPOL was created in 1923.

New Global Tiered Dues Structure
Seeking to improve equity for all members, the IACP is announcing a revised tiered dues structure based upon the World Bank’s country economic groupings. The IACP is offering international membership rates to allow those from lower-income economies to have more affordable access to the benefits and resources provided by the IACP.
What does this mean for you? All IACP members will continue to receive invaluable benefits and resources however, international members from lower-income economies will now have more affordable access. Members from Tier I countries will continue to receive Police Chief magazine mailed to them. Members from Tiers II, III and IV will receive access to the translated digital version at a reduced fee. The new membership dues fee structure went into effect on January 1, 2023.
