The Iraqi Police Education Program (IPEP)
The Iraq Police Education Program (IPEP) was a cooperative effort from 2010 to 2015 between the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement (INL) and the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) to expose visiting Iraq police officers to United States law enforcement training and policing techniques. Using classroom and field environments in police departments across the United States, the Iraqi police officers were trained in all aspects of policing to include patrol, crime scene investigation, and critical incident command leadership training. During the period of performance (2010-2015), IACP trained 170 Iraqi officers with the assistance of numerous police agencies across the U.S.

International Police Education and Training (IPET)
Funded by a grant with the U.S. Department of State Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs, Office of Criminal Justice Assistance and Partnership, the International Police Education and Training program (IPET) aimed to help increase the capabilities of foreign senior police officials and police organizations. The project’s intended goal was to train two to four international police officers (fellows) in the United States for a period of 6-8 weeks. As a part of this training, the fellows developed change proposals for their home agency which they began to implement upon their return. The IACP also sent U.S. officers from the partner agency abroad to mentor the fellows in their home country and assist them in implementing the change plans on which they worked while in the U.S.
Egypt Multi-Disciplinary Study Tours on Combatting Sexual and Gender-Based Violence
In a project funded by the U.S. Department of State - INL, IACP introduced a multidisciplinary approach to investigating sexual and gender-based violence to Egyptian police, prosecutors, forensic officials, and women’s advocacy groups through study tours in the U.S. and site visits in Egypt. Through the program, IACP conducted five U.S. study tours for approximately 50 Egyptian justice sector officials focused on responding to sexual and gender-based violence.
