Since 1987, the IACP Law Enforcement Policy Center has produced documents on over 130 topics of interest to the field of law enforcement. In 2017, the Policy Center conducted a series of focus groups to gather feedback from IACP members to assess the effectiveness of the Policy Center documents. This feedback was then incorporated into the Center’s daily operations and resulted in three key changes.
Recruitment and Retention for 2019 and Beyond - Police Chief Magazine
The aim of the recruitment plan is to attract numerous job seekers to apply or test for open sworn and non-sworn positions. This will allow law enforcement agencies to be highly selective in whom they hire, while maintaining the high standards of the law enforcement profession. Agencies should strive for continuous improvement by hiring and retaining people who are motivated, engaged, and community oriented.
