Brandon Zuidema began his local government career in 1993 as a dispatcher and Deputy Sheriff in Wyoming County, New York before moving to Lynchburg, Virginia in 1994. He spent fifteen years with the Lynchburg Police Department in assignments that included various administrative and operational assignments and promotion to the rank of Captain before he was hired as the Chief of Police for the Garner (NC) Police Department in December 2009.

Brandon is a past president of the North Carolina Association of Chiefs of Police and previously served as Chair of the IACP SafeShield Committee, was a member of the Smaller Law Enforcement Agency Technical Assistance Program, and served as a member of the Patrol & Tactics.

Brandon retired from policing in fall 2019 and joined the Town of Morrisville (NC) as an Assistant Town Manager and was recently promoted to Deputy Town Manager and now works directly with the Morrisville Police Department.

Brandon has been married to his wife, Spring, for 29 years. They have two adult daughters, Meghan and Molly. Brandon is an avid hockey fan and enjoys time with his family and their two rescue Labradors.
