Chief Don W. DeLucca started his law enforcement career in 1981 in the City of Miami Beach, Florida. He rose steadily through the ranks, becoming chief in 2001, until his retirement in 2007. Miami Beach is a city of 100,000 residents with 10,000,000 visitors, which is internationally known for its South Beach and entertainment district. While serving as Chief in Miami Beach, Chief De Lucca was the co-host of the 2005 IACP Annual Conference and Exposition in Miami. Chief De Lucca has also served as the Chief of the Golden Beach Police Department (FL) and presently serves as Chief of the Doral Police Department (FL).

Chief De Lucca holds a Bachelor’s Degree from Barry University and is a graduate of Northwestern University’s School of Staff and Command where he was class president. Since becoming a member of the IACP in 1997, he has served as a member of the Legislative Committee, Executive Committee representing cities of 100,000 to 500,000 and has served as the chairperson for the annual conference committee.
