By accessing or using CRIS, you agree to the following Terms of Use:

Acceptance of Terms: By using CRIS, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree with these terms, please refrain from using the product.

License: The International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) grants you a non-exclusive, non-transferable, limited license to use CRIS and any results for your personal or internal business purposes only, subject to these Terms of Use. No rights are granted other than as expressly set forth herein.

Restrictions: You agree not to:

• Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, circumvent security for CRIS.
• Use of CRIS for any illegal or unauthorized purpose.
• Remove or alter any copyright, trademark, or other proprietary rights notice from CRIS.
• Share, distribute, or create derivative products with CRIS without prior written consent from the IACP CEO.

Intellectual Property: All intellectual property rights in CRIS and in the materials from which it provides responses, including any associated documentation and whitepapers, remain the sole property of IACP. 

Trademarks: Trademarks, service marks, and logos appearing in this website are the property of the IACP or the party that provided the trademarks, service marks, and logos to the IACP. The IACP and any party that provided trademarks, service marks, and logos to the IACP retain all rights with respect to any of their respective trademarks, service marks, and logos appearing in this site. Unauthorized use of the trademarks, service marks and logos of the IACP or any third party is unlawful and will be grounds for exclusion from future use of this website. 

Disclaimer of Warranties: CRIS is provided "as is" without any warranties, express or implied. IACP does not warrant CRIS will meet your requirements or that its operation will be uninterrupted or error-free. IACP does not guarantee the accuracy, or the completeness of the results provided. Without limiting the foregoing, warranties of merchantability and fitness for use are disclaimed. CRIS usage and results should be treated for educational use only. You understand that you rely on CRIS at your own risk.

Limitation of Liability: In no event shall IACP be liable for any losses, damages, or claims whatsoever arising out of or in connection with your use of CRIS, including but not limited to lost profits, direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages with any usage of the responses given by CRIS. Without limiting the foregoing, your maximum remedy, regardless of the form of action, whether in contract, tort or otherwise, shall not exceed $100. 

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, in no event shall IACP or its officers, directors, or employees be liable for any direct, special, incidental, indirect, or consequential damages whatsoever (including, but not limited to, damages for loss of profits, loss of data or other information, for business interruption, for personal injury, loss of privacy arising out of or in any way related to the use of or inability to use the Service, third-party software and/or third-party hardware used with the Service, or otherwise in connection with any provision of this Terms), even if IACP or any supplier has been advised of the possibility of such damages and even if the remedy fails of its essential purpose.

"AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" Disclaimer: The Service is provided to you "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" and with all faults and defects without warranty of any kind. To the maximum extent permitted under applicable law, the IACP, on its own behalf and on behalf of its Affiliates and its and their respective licensors and service providers, expressly disclaims all warranties, whether express, implied, statutory or otherwise, with respect to the Service, including all implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement, and warranties that may arise out of course of dealing, course of performance, usage or trade practice. Without limitation to the foregoing, the IACP provides no warranty or undertaking, and makes no representation of any kind that the Service will meet Your requirements, achieve any intended results, be compatible or work with any other software, applications, systems or services, operate without interruption, meet any performance or reliability standards or be error free or that any errors or defects can or will be corrected.

The IACP assumes no responsibility for consequences resulting from use of the information contained herein, or from use of the information obtained at linked sites, or in any respect for the content of such information. The IACP is not responsible for, and expressly disclaims all liability for, damages of any kind arising out of use, reference to, reliance on, or performance of such information, as well as for any damages or injury caused by any failure of performance, error, omission, interruption, deletion, defect, delay in operation or transmission, computer virus, communication line failure, theft or destruction or unauthorized access to, alteration of, or use of any record. Without limiting the foregoing, the IACP makes no representation or warranty of any kind, express or implied: (i) as to the operation or availability of the Service, or the information, content, and materials or products included thereon; (ii) that the Service will be uninterrupted or error-free; (iii) as to the accuracy, reliability, or currency of any information or content provided through the Service; or (iv) that the Service, its servers, the content, or e-mails sent from or on behalf of the IACP are free of viruses, scripts, trojan horses, worms, malware, timebombs or other harmful components.

Indemnification: You agree to indemnify and hold IACP harmless from any claims, liabilities, damages, or expenses brought against or incurred by IACP arising out of your use of CRIS.

Termination: IACP may terminate your access to CRIS at any time for any reason, without notice or liability.

Changes to Terms of Use: IACP reserves the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Your continued use of CRIS following any changes indicates your acceptance of the modified terms.

Governing Law: These Terms of Use shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Commonwealth of Virginia, without regard to its conflicts of laws provisions, and any disputes which the parties cannot resolve among themselves may be litigated in the Federal or Commonwealth Courts with jurisdiction in Alexandria, Virginia, USA and no other place. 

Export Controls and Blocked Persons: You represent and warrant that (i) You are not located in a country that is subject to the United States government embargo, or that has been designated by the United States government as a "terrorist supporting" country, and (ii) You are not listed on any United States government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
