Commissioner Tisbe Trejo García is a transformative force in Mexican law enforcement. As the youngest and only the second woman to lead the Mexico City Police University, she has redefined police training through a lens of ethics, inclusion, and innovation. With nearly 12 years of service in police education, her leadership has impacted thousands of officers, reshaping the culture of one of the largest police forces in Latin America.
Commissioner Trejo García’s achievements include designing the first promotion process for the Auxiliary Police, securing international accreditation from CALEA, and earning the groundbreaking Women’s Secretariat’s Distinction of Equality between Women and Men for the Auxiliary Police—an unprecedented honor in Mexican policing. In addition, she was instrumental in revising the performance evaluation and promotion process for the Mexico City Police, ensuring that promotions are based on effort and merit, thus increasing the quality of the police ranks and strengthening public trust in the police. Her reforms have embedded gender equality and human rights into every layer of training and policy, ensuring that officers are not only well-prepared but also deeply respectful of the communities they serve.
Her academic excellence, rooted in a law degree with honors from the National Autonomous University of Mexico, is matched by her unwavering commitment to public service. She has championed initiatives like the Police Baccalaureate, empowering officers to pursue further education and professional growth.
