Daniel Goff
Sergeant, Fife Police Department, Washington
Sergeant Daniel Goff is redefining what compassionate, community-centered policing looks like. A 12-year veteran of the Fife Police Department, Sgt. Goff has emerged as a leader in homelessness response, building trust with vulnerable populations and forging partnerships with civilian outreach teams. His work led to the creation of the Homeless Encampment Tracking Dashboard, a citywide tool that improves coordination and service delivery and that has become a model for interdepartmental collaboration and compassionate enforcement.
Sgt. Goff’s innovative spirit also brought cutting-edge training to his department. He spearheaded the adoption of the APEX Officer Virtual Reality (VR) training system—making Fife Police Department the first in Washington to implement it—enhancing officer preparedness and community understanding. He extended the training to a citizen advisory group, citizen academy attendees, and local leaders, earning praise from participants and even the U.S. Navy’s Training Support Agency.
As a mentor and supervisor, Sgt. Goff is known for his empathy and leadership. His guidance has transformed team morale and inspired professional growth among his peers. His accolades include the Excellence in Public Service Award, a Law Enforcement Hero Award, and recognition for solving a decade-long criminal case. In addition to his regular duties, he’s also a firearms instructor and a SWAT team member.
Inspired by his grandfather’s legacy of service as a U.S. Marine and driven by a desire to create meaningful change, Sgt. Goff brings heart, strategy, and integrity to every role he serves.
“I just want to leave things better than I found them—for my team, my department, and the people we serve.”
