Aly Mustain

Corporal Aly Mustain exemplifies the highest standards of modern policing through her leadership, mentorship, and unwavering commitment to public safety. A standout member of the Marysville Police Department, Cpl. Mustain has quickly become a driving force in DUI enforcement, conducting more than 340 DUI arrests and more than 50 drug influence evaluations as a certified Drug Recognition Expert. Her meticulous investigative work and dedication to accountability earned her the 2024 Marysville Police Officer of the Year award and contributed to her promotion to corporal. She was also recognized for excellence at two previous police agencies with whom she served.
Beyond enforcement, Cpl. Mustain is a passionate mentor and field training officer, guiding new recruits with integrity and purpose. She also serves as a Standardized Field Sobriety Testing instructor. Cpl. Mustain finds fulfillment in mentorship and teamwork, and she is always eager to highlight the strengths of her colleagues and to help them grow and leverage their abilities.
Her impact extends into the community through outreach programs like the YMCA and Girl Scouts, where she inspires courage and leadership in youth. While at a previous agency, she also participated in the local Polar Plunge to support Special Olympics.
A U.S. Army National Guard veteran and one of the first female combat engineers to graduate from Ft. Leonard Wood, Cpl. Mustain brings discipline, resilience, and a collaborative spirit to every role she undertakes. Her colleagues describe her as “the epitome of leading by example”—an officer whose energy, professionalism, and compassion elevate everyone around her.
