What We DO

The International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) is a comprehensive professional organization that Serves the Leaders of Today and develops the Leaders of Tomorrow. For over 100 years, the IACP has been launching internationally acclaimed programs, speaking on behalf of law enforcement, conducting ground-breaking research, and providing exemplary programs and services to members across the globe. This mission continues today.

The IACP “serves the leaders of today” through:

  • Advocacy: The IACP is the leading voice of law enforcement professionals. The IACP is always at the forefront of policy debates that affect law enforcement.
  • Training: The IACP Center for Police Leadership and Training provides unparalleled instruction that empowers today’s leaders to find innovative solutions, make critical decisions, and ultimately save lives.
  • Research: Through National Policy Summits, publications, and training and technical assistance programs, the IACP provides law enforcement with the answers the need.
  • Conferences: IACP conferences provide leaders from around the globe the opportunity to come together to foster a continuing exchange of information and best practices.

The IACP is also focused on “developing the law enforcement leaders of tomorrow.” The IACP Center for Police Leadership, its Police Chief Mentoring program, and numerous other training and educational opportunities are designed to prepare tomorrow’s leaders for the changes they will face.
