While conducting a frisk for weapons during an investigative detention, an officers detects an object in the suspect’s clothing that by sense of touch alone he recognizes as contraband or other incriminating evidence. Can the item be seized and the suspect arrested and, will the evidence be admissible in a court of law? This is the subject of parts one and two of this Training Key®.
