There are a number of federal on-line information systems that have been developed for investigating specific types of criminal offenses and criminal enterprises. Criminal investigators on the state and local levels can access these valuable resources to more effectively and efficiently solve local cases. In so doing, they can also coordinate their investigations with other federal and state law enforcement agencies that may be involved in parallel investigations.
