Global Policing Division Steering Committee Annual Meeting
On October 19, 2025, the IACP convened the Global Policing Division Steering Committee annual meeting, gathering international leaders to advance global law enforcement collaboration. The meeting featured guest presentations from delegations representing Brazil, Colombia, and Taiwan, highlighting innovative practices and shared challenges in policing. IACP President Ken Walker and First Vice President David Rausch were in attendance.
Annual World Regional Chairs Meeting
On October 18, 2025, the IACP hosted the annual World Regional Chairs Meeting, bringing together World Regional Chairs and representatives from all seven global regions: North America, Central America and the Caribbean, South America, Europe, Middle East and North Africa, Sub-Saharan Africa, and Asia-Pacific. IACP President Ken Walker and First Vice President David Rausch provided remarks during the meeting.
French, Spanish, and Portuguese Speaking Events
As a part of the IACP 2025 Annual Conference and Expositon, the IACP organized dedicated sessions for French, Spanish, and Portuguese-speaking members. The Portuguese-speaking session was held on Friday, October 17, while the French and Spanish sessions took place on Tuesday, October 21. These sessions provided opportunities for participants to connect with peers, exchange insights, and strengthen international collaboration.
Virtual Conference on the Impact of Ethical Artificial Intelligence
On October 23, 2025, at the request of the Institute of Traffic, Licensing, and Metro Police Officers of Southern Africa (ITLMPO-SA), the IACP assisted in organizing a virtual conference focused on the impact of ethical artificial intelligence on law enforcement, licensing, and institutional performance. The session was led by Mr. Don Zoufal, a member of the IACP Communications and Technology Committee. His presentation provided officers with insight on modern policing innovations and their role in advancing anti-corruption efforts, enhancing organizational effectiveness, and promoting the ethical use of intelligence technologies in enforcement.
International Delegation Meetings
From October 18-20, 2025, the Global Policing team held delegation meetings with representatives from Taiwan, Spain, Brazil, Ghana, and the Netherlands to discuss ongoing initiatives and explore future collaboration opportunities with the IACP as part of the IACP Annual Conference and Exposition in Denver, Colorado.
BIGRS De-escalation Trainings
On October 27, 2025 and October 29, 2025, the IACP held de-escalation trainings in Guayaquil, Ecuador and Quito, Ecuador in which over 40 traffic agents were trained. In each training, traffic agents developed critical communication and de-escalation skills to ensure safer, more effective interactions at traffic checkpoints.
BIGRS De-escalation Trainings
From October 13-14, 2025, the IACP held a de-escalation training in Buenos Aires, Argentina for 50 agents. A second training was held from October 16-17, 2025 for 80 inspectors from the Córdoba, Argentina municipal transit police. In each training, traffic agents developed critical communication and de-escalation skills to ensure safer, more effective interactions at traffic checkpoints.
Traffic Safety and BIGRS Partners Meeting
From October 6-8, 2025, IACP staff met with leaders in Córdoba, Argentina to discuss the ongoing efforts to improve traffic safety in the city. After the visit, IACP staff traveled to Buenos Aires, Argentina to attend the Bloomberg Partners Meeting. During the meeting, Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative for Global Road Safety (BIGRS) partner organizations discussed the ongoing efforts to improve traffic safety in the cities of Córdoba and Buenos Aires.
ILEAA Networking Event
On October 1, 2025, the IACP took part in a networking event with the International Law Enforcement Attachés Association at the former residence of the Japanese ambassador.
Bloomberg Partners Meeting
From September 30 - October 1, 2025, the IACP was in Bogotá, Colombia for the Bloomberg Partners Meeting. During this meeting, Bloomberg Philanthropies Initiative for Global Road Safety (BIGRS) partner organizations discussed the ongoing efforts to improve traffic safety in Cali and Bogotá, Colombia. After the meeting, the IACP met with Secretary of Mobility leaders in Bogotá and Cali to discuss traffic enforcement initiatives and how the IACP can continue to support their work.
