Planning, Designing, and Constructing Police Training Facilities

As law enforcement agencies look for ways to improve personnel and officer training, the IACP offers this in-person course over two days that will provide thorough and thought-provoking instruction on how to conceive, plan and design a public safety training facility. The classroom session and facility tours will be conducted by experts in the design field as well as law enforcement agency leaders who have gone through the development and operation of training centers.
This course will assist law enforcement executives, training supervisors and other government administrators in establishing the best way forward in achieving their facility goals.
At the conclusion of the course, participants should be able to do the following:
- Gain an understanding of how to determine what is required for their public safety facility training needs.
- Be knowledgeable of the phases of design and construction and what to expect throughout the process.
- Know how to select a qualified team of design and construction professionals to make the training facility a reality.
