Course Overview
IACP’s Police Academy Train‐the‐Trainer: Considerations for Small Agency and Rural Response to Violence Against Women is for law enforcement instructors who are certified to train in the policy academy. This 4-week, interactive, virtual training offers a unique opportunity to:
- Enhance existing academy training curricula on law enforcement response to violence against women crimes and co‐occurring and interconnected crimes, and the impact of trauma.
- Increase understanding of the additional challenges and complexities faced by small and rural agencies in responding to these crimes.
- Strengthen presentation, facilitation, and classroom management skills.
- Share successes, challenges, and solutions with law enforcement peers who train in the police academy.
