The Scanlon Excellence in Criminal Justice Information Sharing Award is awarded to a person who has dedicated his or her career to the advancement of criminal justice informing sharing in the public safety community. Awardees demonstrate achievements in the improvement of criminal justice information sharing across jurisdictional lines, at all levels of government, and across multiple disciplines. Awardees are exceptional leaders who bring people together to promote new technologies, innovation, best practices, and lessons learned. Awardees are leaders and involved in groups at a local, state, and/or national level that accomplish these goals.
Mohammed Abdullah Hussain Al Ahli, Dubai Police
Mohammed Abdullah Hussain Al Ahli began his career in criminal investigations with the Dubai Police in 2018, with the goal of pursuing and arresting wanted criminals with Interpol's Red Notices, specializing in international gangs and criminal syndicates. Mohammed serves as the official representative for Dubai Police to both Interpol and Europol and acts as liaison coordinator for the embassies.
One of the many noteworthy accomplishments of Mohammed's career is his construction of new methodology in forensic analysis, which contributed directly to locating the head of a transnational crime syndicate involved in drug trafficking and smuggling operations between South America and Europe. This resulted in the synchronized arrest of 20 wanted gang leaders across multiple countries.
Mohammed's dedication to information sharing among law enforcement agencies was instrumental to these extraordinary results and exemplifies his commitment to the advancement of criminal justice information sharing throughout the global public safety community.
