Lieutenant Sara Alzarooni has been working as a pharmacist for the Drug Rehabilitation Center within Sharjah’s Ministry of Interior for six years, where she has received external and internal awards for her effort, cooperation, and excellent performance. During her time at the ministry, she has developed the strategic plan for her department and proposed Patrol of the Future, an initiative to support the UAE’s goal of smart government. She is the first women in Sharjah certified as an auditor from the Prevention and Safety Authority and the National Emergency Criss and Disasters Management Authority.
As the chief of the Ghayath Al-Mayadeen initiative, Lieutenant Alzarooni leads an effort to educate first responders on dealing with traffic incidents and emergencies. This program also encourages police personnel to volunteer in different fields to enhance their skills and make a difference in their communities.
Lieutenant Alzarooni is dedicated to the UAE’s vision of gender equality and actively supports the Women’s Empowerment initiative; she is a member of the General Balance Team for Women Empowerment and leads by example through takings steps to advance her own career, such as earning a master’s degree in innovation and leadership. She also feels a sense of social responsibility, which she has fulfilled through raising awareness about drug addiction within society, workplaces, and universities and taking part in training to enable people who are elderly or who have disabilities to live with dignity.
