Officer Saved by Vest Honored with Commendations for Valor Award

A Folcroft, PA, police officer was honored for acting courageously after being shot at point-blank range while responding to a report of a possible drug deal.  The rookie officer was shot seven  times, four of those shots were stopped by his bulletproof vest.  Officials credit the vest with saving the officer's life.  The suspect was a career criminal who is now being charged and prosecuted for attempted murder among other charges.
