January 9-13 Juvenile Justice Conference
The Coordinating Council on Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, supported by the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention, is holding the conference Building on Success: Providing Today’s Youth with Opportunities for a Better Tomorrow.
The conference is being held at the Hilton Washington, 1919 Connecticut Ave, NW, Washington, DC.
The agenda will revolve around four main themes identified in the Final Report of the White House Task Force for Disadvantaged Youth:
• Trends in Victimization, Delinquency, and the Juvenile Justice System: Helping Youth With the Greatest Need.
• Strengthening Our Families To Develop Our Youth.
• Holding Programs and Ourselves Accountable.
• What Works.
This conference is pulling together more than a dozen federal agencies that are engaging in coordinated strategies at unprecedented levels. Participating agencies include Department of Homeland Security, Department of Justice, and the Office of National Drug Control Policy. In addition to the conference agenda, this historic conference will provide an opportunity for participants from local law enforcement and juvenile justice agencies to network and obtain information on grant opportunities.
