Nominations open for the 2004 Trooper of the Year Award
For the tenth year, the IACP, Division of State and Provincial Police is seeking nominations for the “Trooper of the Year” award. In past years, we have recognized some of the most courageous and dedicated officers in law enforcement.
As we have in the past, the S&P division as well as our corporate sponsors will honor the Trooper of the Year, as well as three runners up. I urge all member agencies of the Division of State and Provincial Police to participate in this year’s program, specifically designed to focus on the outstanding achievements of state and provincial law enforcement officers.
A panel of judges will review the nominations of the four finalists and will make the final selection of the 2004 Trooper of the Year. The panel will consist of one representative from each of the four S&P regions and one panel member from either the RCMP or one of the
provincial police agencies.
The name of the Trooper of the Year will remain secret until announced at the award banquet, on February 19, 2005, during the 2005 S&P Midyear Conference. All four regional winners and their spouses will be the guests of the S&P division at the midyear meeting, all expenses paid.
