2003 Proposed Resolutions Now Available

The IACP Resolutions Committee has reviewed the resolutions that have been submitted for consideration at the annual conference in Philadelphia. The text of the proposed resolutions is available below. In addition, a chart, which outlines the action taken by the committee on each resolution, is also available. All resolutions have either been approved or conditionally approved by the Resolutions Committee. In those cases where the Resolutions Committee has proposed changes or sought clarification, the Resolutions Committee will work with the sponsoring committee to reach agreement on the outstanding issues. At this point, if a member/committee/section/division wishes to submit a resolution for consideration at the annual conference, it may only do so by having a representative present the proposed resolution to the Resolutions Committee during its meetings in Philadelphia during the annual conference. This representative must be able to answer any questions the Resolutions Committee may have about the proposed resolution and must be empowered to accept/reject any proposed modifications suggested by the committee. The Resolutions Committee will meet on October 21 at 1:00 p.m. in room 203B of the Pennsylvania Convention Center and on Thursday, October 24 at 12:00 p.m. in room 105A. Resolutions approved by the Resolutions Committee will be considered by the general membership at the conclusion of the second general assembly, which will be held from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. on Friday, October 24th. Questions on these proposed resolutions or the resolution consideration process should be directed to Gene Voegtlin, Resolution Committee Staff liaison at 703/836-6767 ext. 211 or via e-mail. The proposed resolutions attached are for discussion purposes only. They have not been approved by the IACP membership, and do not reflect the official position of the organization.
