IACP-FOP CALL FOR AN EXTENSION OF ALL LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICERS TO WEAR MOURNING BANDS IN MEMORY OF THE FALLEN OFFICERS IN BATON ROUGE
Chief Terrence M. Cunningham, President of the International Association of Chiefs of Police, and Chuck Canterbury, National President of the Fraternal Order of Police, offer their sincerest condolences to the families, friends, and colleagues of the fallen officers in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.
The IACP and the FOP had previously issued a two-week national mourning band period following the tragedy in Dallas that was scheduled to end on July 22, 2016. The IACP and the FOP would like to extend the call for officers to wear their mourning bands to midnight on July 31, 2016 in honor of the fallen officers in Baton Rouge.
