Conference Spotlight: Workshop Everyone with a Holding Cell Needs to Attend

If your agency has even one holding cell that is used to detain people, even if only for a few hours at a time, there are detainee safety and agency liability issues that you need to be aware of. The US Department of Justice has recently released standards that apply to all lockups for the prevention, detection, response, and elimination of sexual abuse in confinement. Agencies that have a lockup (even just one holding cell) need to understand what these standards mean for local law enforcement; including potential implications for agency liability. Fortunately, attendees at the IACP Annual Conference in San Diego, CA, will have an opportunity to learn more about these standards.
