The National Criminal Justice Commission: A Road Map for the Future

Dear IACP Member:

As a membership association, we rely on our collective wisdom to move IACP forward on issues facing today's law enforcement agencies. Further, we strive to enhance membership services and our ability to communicate more readily and interactively.

To that end, in 2011, the IACP hosted the first two segments in a series of worldwide law enforcement webcasts that allow police chiefs throughout the country to exchange ideas and best practices, and discuss the challenges they are facing and the solutions they have identified. Hundreds of chiefs from the United States and around the world joined us for these very informative and thoughtful discussions.

Through this series, the goal is to outline our efforts to assist law enforcement agencies and engage you, the IACP membership, with a virtual question-and-answer session.

Webcast: The National Criminal Justice Commission: A Road Map for the Future

Please join us at 11:30 a.m. ET on Jan. 24 for our third live webcast to discuss the need for a national commission on the criminal justice system. This webcast will focus on the challenges confronting law enforcement agencies today, how policing has changed since the last commission - the 1965 President Johnson Commission - and how the IACP is working to make the commission a reality.

This is an exciting opportunity for the IACP, and we are grateful to SAS, a leading provider of analytic solutions, for hosting this electronic dialogue. I look forward to speaking with you on Jan. 24 and encourage your continued and active engagement.

Walt McNeil
