The Bureau of Justice Assistance, the International Association of Chiefs of Police, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the U.S. Attorneys’ Offices for the Eastern & Middle Districts of North Carolina, Fayetteville Police Department, the North Carolina Gang Investigators Association, the U.S. Army Special Operations Command Unit, and the Fayetteville Technical Community College presents the 2012 Project Safe Neighborhoods (PSN) Law Enforcement Training Consortium: Armed Encounters; Establishing 360-degree Security.

PSN is a nationwide commitment to reduce gun and gang crime in America by networking existing local programs that target gun and gun crime and providing these programs with additional tools necessary to be successful.  A training seminar has been scheduled for February 7-9, 2012 at the Airborne and Special Operations Museum in Fayetteville, North Carolina. Speakers confirmed include LT (retired) Richard Hobson teaching on the Characteristics of Armed Persons and LTC (retired) Dave Grossman presenting on the Warrior Mindset. Other topics include Hidden Compartments, PTSD, Interview Techniques, Firearms Investigations, and more. Click here for a draft agenda.

The registration fee is $30.00. All attendees must pay the registration fee. Registration is not complete until the registration fee is received. Please make checks to North Carolina Gang Investigators Association. Registration is open until February 1 or until full. Registration is not accepted for partial attendance. **A limited number of lodging scholarships will be offered to those attending outside of a 50 mile radius of Fayetteville. The lodging is double occupancy and covers February 6, 7 and 8, 2012. Request for lodging scholarship must be made by January 22, 2012. You must attend the full conference to receive a scholarship. All scholarship recipient lodging will be made by the training committee. Room reservation will be made upon receipt of completed registration. If you desire a guaranteed single room, you may contact the hotel directly for lodging at your expense ($67.90 + tax, per night before 1-23-12). **

CONTINUING EDUCATION UNITS: Fayetteville Technical Community College will provide credits for local and state sworn officers. Attached you will find a FTCC registration form, please bring the completed form to the training.
