IACP Podcast Series No. 17 - Predominant Aggressor Determination
Every time an officer is at the scene of a domestic violence call, they face the difficult task of identifying the predominant aggressor. Law enforcement must make the best effort to establish the facts of the incident and who presents the most serious on-going threat before making this determination. By implementing and enforcing clear and legal policies, training all members, and evaluating and auditing officer actions and reports, departments can ensure that the correct action will be taken.
