The IACP Foundation is proud to provide direct assistance to the
families of fallen officers through our IACP Foundation/TASER Fallen
Officer Fund. In the event of an officer’s passing in the line of duty,
the IACP Foundation is able to quickly provide a $5000.00 gift to
dependent spouses and/or children to address immediate and pressing
fiscal demands that may be facing the family. Since this fund was
established in late 2012, the Foundation has distributed $115,000.00 to
over 20 families in honor of their fallen family member.

Additionally, through the Survivors’ Education Law Enforcement Trust
(SELECT) Scholarship Program, the Foundation distributes four cash
scholarships annually to the dependent family members of officers
fallen and permanently disabled in the line of duty. Over the past six
years, the Foundation has funded $32,000.00 in continuing education
for both spouses and children of law enforcement’s finest.

Finally, perhaps in the ultimate service of honoring the fallen, the
Foundation is committed to decreasing officer injuries and eliminating
deaths by enhancing officer safety and wellness. Through the IACP’s
Center for Officer Safety and Wellness, the Foundation funds
efforts that take a holistic approach to officer safety and wellness
by addressing all stages of an officer’s life cycle, from recruitment to
training, retention, and retirement. The Center fosters a culture of
safety and wellness and is built on the belief that no injury to or death
of a law enforcement professional is acceptable.

Private Sector, Individuals and Public Safety –
Where You Fit, How You Can Help

The IACP Foundation provides a natural nexus between the private
sector and the support of professional policing. In the cities, states and
towns where you work, live and travel, law enforcement officers build
safer communities where your businesses thrive and grow.

Your contribution to the Foundation’s programs, and support of the
IACP, directly touches lives and creates meaningful impact in your
neighborhoods. Safer communities mean better business for everyone;
this is your opportunity to give back. Come join the ranks of honor by
supporting the IACP Foundation Gala.
