The assessment center process is a powerful technique for promotional decisions. Observing candidates' behavior in simulations of on-the-job challenges offers in-depth information concerning candidate strengths and weaknesses. Each candidate participates in a series of exercises that simulate actual situations from the target job. The performance of candidates is evaluated by expert assessors, providing information unattainable from written tests, interviews or any other source. Because of their accurate simulation of the job and its duties, assessment centers have proven highly defensible as a selection strategy.

This workshop offers an in-depth explanation of assessment centers: from job analysis to exercise development, and from technology to administration. Participate in hands-on workshops and network with top professionals from around the country. Individuals responsible for selecting, promoting, or training professionals will benefit from this workshop, whether they are novices, experts, or somewhere in between.
