Paul Schuster

Paul M. Schuster, 55, is a twenty-six year member of the Dallas Police Department. He has the rank of Senior Corporal, and coordinates new building and renovation projects for the Office of Chief of Police. In 1989 he was tasked with planning various renovations and in 1991 attended the IACP course on facilities. Using the knowledge gained, he has developed proposals and seen the completion of a new police headquarters, two patrol district stations, two satellite stations, an aviation security building, and begun plans for an academy. For this course he provides the introduction to the process of planning and constructing police facilities. This instruction forms a framework for the primary instructor, Mr. James McClaren, to address the specialized needs of several types of police facilities. He has also coordinated $1 million in audio and visual systems for the department, Fusion Center, and other technology installations. He has a Bachelor of Arts degree, several departmental awards, was 2001 Dallas Officer of the Year, and has been a presenter and jury panelist for the American Institute of Architects Justice Facilities Review.
