Mr. Heinrichs' Biography
 
George Heinrichs is the president and cofounder of Intrado Inc., a global provider of public safety communications services.  A recognized expert in emergency services and as an entrepreneur, Mr. Heinrichs has played a key role in the evolution of the nation’s emergency communications network for the past thirty years.  He has served as an expert witness for both the US House of Representatives and the US Senate. 
 
His business leadership includes ‘bootstrapping’ the startup company, raising venture capital funding for continued growth, taking the company public on the NASDAQ National Markets, and ultimately selling the company to a larger public entity.   His approach to business revolutionized the 9-1-1 industry. Today, with approximately 1200 employees throughout the US and Canada,  Intrado provides the core of North America’s 9-1-1 infrastructure, historically processing over 3 billion 9-1-1 calls and touching millions of lives every day. 
 
For his sustained support and leadership as well as his contributions to public safety and business, Mr. Heinrichs has received numerous awards in his role as President of Intrado, including:

• Entrepreneur of Distinction
• Graduate Student Business Association Corporate Excellence Award, University of Colorado
• Denver Telecom Professionals 2002 Executive of the Year
• Ernst & Young 2005 Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Technology
• George W Bush Award for support of the National Guard and Reserve
• Elected as a Fellow in the Radio Club of America
 
Mr. Heinrichs is a member of the National Emergency Number Association, the Association of Public-Safety Communications Officials International, the National Sheriffs’ Association and the Association of Computing Machinery.   He has served on the Advisory Board of the University of Colorado School of Business Entrepreneurial Program,  on the Board of Directors of the Intelligent Transportation Society of America (ITS America), and the Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association (CTIA).
 
In 2007 he helped to found the 9-1-1 Industry Alliance, serving as its chairman until 2009.   Under his leadership the Alliance has become a driving force in helping to evolve our nation’s critical 9-1-1 infrastructure.  In 2008 he collaborated with the University of Denver Daniels College Of Business to develop an executive education program for public safety executives.
 
Mr. Heinrichs’ background includes service in both Law Enforcement and Emergency Medical Services as a field responder.  After serving 10 years as a law enforcement officer, Mr. Heinrichs left the department at the rank of Lieutenant.  During his public safety tenure he trained in many areas including the FBI’s Hostage Negotiation and Tactics program, White Collar Crime Investigation and other specialized programs as well as achieving State of Colorado Certification as a Peace Officer and as an Instructor for law enforcement certification. He also served for seven years as the Chairman of the Colorado Crime Information Center Working Committee establishing policy and process for comprehensive public safety automation in pursuit of wanted criminals and stolen property.  Mr. Heinrichs was elected as a representative to the FBI’s NCIC Advisory Policy Board – Western Region.
 
Mr. Heinrichs continues to work as Intrado’s President following its sale to West Corporation.
