The 2009 IACP Foundation Fundraising Gala took place on Saturday, October 3rd in Denver, CO in conjunction with the IACP's 116th Annual Conference. Ticket and table purchases raised almost $120,000, proceeds from the Silent Auctions totalled almost $8,000, and the auction for the donated commemorative Sig Sauer firearm raised over $2,000!
Guest speaker and blind adventurer Erik Weihenmayer moved the crowd from laughter to tears with his compelling account of overcoming childhood blindness to eventually climb Mt. Everest.
The Foundation honored Mr. George Heinrichs, President and Co-Founder of Intrado Inc., as the 2009 Person of the Year for his support of law enforcement and his dedication to leadership training.
