IACP Foundation
First Annual Fundraising Gala!

October, 2007

 Mayor Giuliani addresses the crowd
Letting the good times roll in New Orleans at the IACP’s 114th Annual Conference in October proved to be an exciting and successful strategy for the IACP Foundation as we hosted our first series of major fundraising events while on site.

With an outstanding show of support from the IACP membership, IACP staff, Foundation and Association board members, and our dedicated corporate partners, the Foundation is thrilled to announce a grand total of over $100,000.00 raised to continue our flagship programs in leadership, scholarship, global enrichment, and no-cost training.

Classic New Orleans jazz got the gala rollingThe week began on Sunday, October 14th with the Foundation’s First Annual Fundraising Gala featuring former New York City Mayor Rudolph W. Giuliani as keynote speaker.  Over three hundred guests attended the evening’s event, which got underway with a hosted reception and silent auction of exclusive sports memorabilia.

The gala was followed on Monday by an additional silent auction during Host Chief’s Night festivities at the Super Dome where attendees packed the auction tent throughout the evening perusing and purchasing thousands of dollars worth of exceptional sports and pop culture collectibles.

Contributions made to the IACP Foundation support professional policing by funding programs such as the Center for Police Leadership, scholarships for dependent family members of officers killed or disabled in the line of duty, IACP membership opportunities for underrepresented nations, and a variety of no cost training tools that benefit law enforcement agencies across the globe.

The IACP Foundation thanks each and every individual and organization that helped make this critical fundraising effort such a tremendous success.  Please plan to join us in San Diego in 2008 as we prepare for another gala evening of celebrating and promoting the work of the IACP Foundation.

2007 corporate supporters included: Lockheed Martin, Motorola, Target, The Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs, Ohio Association of Chiefs of Police, OnStar by GM, Oracle, Alarm Industry Associations, Blauer Manufacturing, W.L. Gore and Associates, iRecord Interview Software, the LEIM Section of IACP, Nestor Traffic Systems, Whelen Engineering, and Verizon Wireless.
