Capitol Police Section
The Capitol Police Section promotes exchange of information and develops standards for increasing the efficiency and capabilities of each law enforcement agency that provides service to our state and nation’s critical assets.
Mission
The mission of this section is to allow its members to develop and promote professional relationships among its members and the IACP; and to increase the efficiency and capabilities of each law enforcement agency that provides service to our state and nation’s critical assets. This will be accomplished by providing educational training, promoting effective leadership, sharing information, and mentoring our future leaders.
Membership
Section membership is open to individuals who are now, or have been, engaged in or responsible for providing police services at a national or state/providence State House. Section members will promote and develop beneficial relationships with the private sector and our individual communities. Integrity, honor, and ethical behavior will be the standard for professionalism among our section members.
Upcoming Meetings
The Capitol Police Section anticipates conducting an interim training brief for section members in Summer 2012. More details about the date and topic will be available soon.
The Capitol Police Section will be holding our annual meeting at the IACP Annual Conference in San Diego on Monday, October 1 from 9am-11am. The meeting will provide an opportunity for members and potential members to network, share promising practices, and participate in a training brief.
