IACP National Law Enforcement Challenge The National Law Enforcement Challenge (NLEC) is a national traffic safety awards program that recognizes excellent law enforcement traffic safety programs.

The program provides law enforcement agencies with an opportunity to make a difference in the communities they serve and allows agencies to learn from one another and establish future goals in traffic safety enforcement and education.

National Law Enforcement Challenge Deadline Extended Until May 2

The NLEC experienced an online interruption this morning. The problem has been resolved. In an effort to provide agencies that were affected with additional time to submit their application the deadline has been extended until 11:59 pm (EST) May 2.

The 2012 National Law Enforcement Challenge application is now entirely online! Applications must be submitted by 11:59 pm on May 1, 2013. Agencies work on their applications and save them to be finalized and submitted at a later date, but make sure you complete and submit your application before the deadline. Incomplete applications and applications submitted after the deadline will not be evaluated.

The application has five sections that must be completed prior submitting it. There is a progress bar at the top of the screen to assist you, letting you know where you are in the application process. Completing the online application process involves answering quantitative questions about your department and traffic-related efforts and attaching supporting documents for each section.
